Usrah in Action 2

Community Service: Kampung Sungai Pusu Usrah in Action 1 and 2 took us a whole year of studies to complete it. We are able to grow with the course as it is not like any other subject in which we only learn for our own benefit in the meantime. But, with Usrah in Action, we get to execute the program by ourselves with the help of our instructor, Ketua Kampung and Imam of Kampung Sungai Pusu mosque. Phase 1: Data Gathering (Usrah in Action 1) During Phase 1, each member is required to gather information from the villagers. It is to analyze the lifestyle. My group went to some houses at Kampung Sungai Pusu to personally interview our respondents. This helps us to practice our communication skills.  To be able to connect better with the villagers, my group has attended Yasin recitation after the Maghrib prayer. It was great to experience the small events or ibadah as we notice there were not only elderly presents but also teenagers and kids. Phase 2: Program Proposal (Usrah in Action 1) Af

Reflective Journal (W1-13) Usrah in Action is a community engagement course. It helps students to befriend with community nearby and contribute to the society.  This course is very good for students as it teaches us to be observant and understanding people better. The course focuses on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are very crucial these days. It is a responsibility of the mankind to preserve mother nature and the world in general. Thus, the broad spectrum of SGDs will guide us to run the world in balance, equality and justice for all creatures. Then why would we have to engage with the society? To learn more about the people, the landscape and lifestyle. To be able to study that will helps us to plan and execute solutions on fulfilling SDGs. Thus, this course is amazing as the way it is.

Flood Experienced in My Hometown

As we all aware, nature is the biggest resources for human survival. It contains a lot of benefit for human to use. From tiniest sand to the biggest sun. All of it are beneficial and important for human to do their daily routine. For example, we need oxygen to breath. We can get oxygen from plants or tree as a result from photosynthesis. Photosynthesis requires water and carbon dioxide. This shows how we need each other for survival. Human have to develop friendly co-existence with the nature. As someone who lives near forest, in a village, my family have experienced flood. It happen when I was 10 years old. The water level was almost on my chest if I was not carried by my brother. It was terrifying as it was my first time. I wonder how does the flood happen. The nonstop rain might contribute a lot to the natural disaster but could it be something else? I dig some information when I grew older as it peaks my curiosity. I've read some article and news about illegal logging. Illegal

Help Our Children to Save New Talents!

The total number of children who have been affected by drugs is highly worrying.  Drug is actually something beneficial when it is consumed with the right amount and under supervision of a specialist doctor. People, however, have abused the use of drugs. What makes it much more troublesome is that many teens have been influenced by it as well. Teenagers are well-known for their insatiable curiosity. They tend to do what their peers do in order to fit in and be trendy. Those who are unable to think properly are dragging themselves into dangerous situations. I've researched the effects of drug addiction, particularly on children. Growing children's health will be threatened as a consequence of this drug. Excessive and uncontrolled use will disrupt the developmental process. The most alarming issue is the destruction to brain cells. How can individuals survive with a brain that doesn't work properly? It hinders people unable to make decisions. If a large number of children are

What Possibly be the Challenge for Gender Equality?

Image
Gender equality is a broad topic . It supports values of girls and woman in society. According to my observations, the main obstacle in achieving this aim is the gender role stereotype. We have been accustomed to the distinction between girly and manly duties, where girly is considered an insult in our society. The conventional practise poses a hurdle to changing this viewpoint. Many debates have erupted on social media. It is difficult to instil new ideas in traditional practitioners since they are often strong-opinionated. As this is a very sensitive subject, I expected heated debate from both sides. Gender roles, in my opinion, should not be normalised because it weakens the view of each gender. Whereas we are capable of accomplishing things together. Woman should get the same opportunity of employment for the post they want that were mostly conquered by men. Women of pandemic era are very hardworking. Many are independent and working just like men and still can manage the ho
